How to use Alientech Powergate 3?

1. Using a PC running Windows 8 or a later version, download the Powergate 3 software. Once the download is complete, run the installer, which will guide you through the installation process similar to any other program. Once installation is finished, launch the software. Setting up this software beforehand will make things easier.
2. After launching the program, connect the Powergate to your computer using the provided USB cable. The application will then connect to the device and initiate any necessary updates. You don't need to update every time you connect unless explicitly instructed to do so by us.
3. Once the update process is complete, you'll see the available options on the left side of the screen. Now, disconnect the device and proceed to your vehicle. Locate the OBD2 port in your vehicle and plug in the Powergate.
4. Turn the ignition to the ON position so that all dashboard lights are illuminated, but the engine is not running. At this point, the Powergate will turn on and display the home screen. Tap on the TUNING icon, as the screen is touch-sensitive.
5. Now, select your vehicle's Make, Model, and Engine using the arrow buttons. Once selected, the device will check for the presence of an original file. If none is found, it will prompt you to proceed with reading.
6. After the reading process is complete, cycle the key off and then on again as instructed by the device. Once done, the device will notify you, and you can unplug it and return to your PC.
7. Reconnect the Powergate to your PC and relaunch the application. Once the device is reconnected, access the left side menu and select Download Data. Follow the prompts to download the file you read out to your PC. Once downloaded, locate the file and initiate the upload process. This may take 24-48 hours for us to process.
8. Now, it's time to flash your tuned file. Retrieve the tuned file sent to you via email and launch the Powergate software again. Connect your device with the USB cable and select Upload Data from the left menu. Locate the file saved on your computer and follow the prompts to upload it to your Powergate.
9. Once the upload is complete, the device will notify you. You can now disconnect the Powergate from your PC and return to your vehicle. Reconnect the Powergate to your car's OBD2 port. It will power up again, displaying the VRTuned logo and icons.
10. Tap on the TUNING icon. You'll see both the original and tuned files. Follow any instructions given, such as turning the vehicle key on and off. Once the process is complete, the device will prompt you to unplug it. Keep the device in your vehicle for future use. The Powergate allows you to easily revert to the original file and also includes a diagnostic function. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
