BMW & MINI B37 / B47 EGR & EGR Cooler Delete Kit

This Darkside Developments EGR and EGR Cooler Delete Kit is designed for BMW and MINI vehicles using B37 and B47 transverse diesel engines.

The kit allows the factory EGR and EGR cooler system to be removed. Removing the EGR system can help reduce exhaust-gas-related soot and carbon buildup within the intake and turbo system and removes the factory EGR cooler from the engine.

Important Compatibility Information

This kit is specifically for B37 and B47 transverse diesel engine applications. It should not be confused with the separate Darkside Developments B47 EGR and cooler delete kit for other BMW B47 applications.

Darkside Developments recommends providing the vehicle registration, VIN or chassis number when ordering so the correct application can be confirmed.

ECU Warning

Once the EGR valve is removed or blanked, the vehicle ECU may detect that the expected EGR valve signal is no longer present and illuminate an emissions or workshop warning light. ECU software modification may be required depending on the vehicle configuration.

Off-Road / Emissions Use

This product removes or modifies an emissions-control system. Use on public roads may be prohibited under applicable emissions and vehicle regulations. The owner is responsible for ensuring that any modification complies with applicable Australian laws and registration requirements.

Complete the modification with ECU tuning

The plate handles the physical blanking, while the required ECU calibration addresses EGR operation and monitoring. Installing a plate without suitable calibration can trigger EGR-related fault codes, an engine warning light or limp mode.

If your vehicle still needs this calibration, select the mail-in ECU tuning option above when ordering. This service requires you to send your engine ECU to us. Customers who already have suitable EGR calibration can purchase the plate on its own.

Intake cleaning alongside the installation

Blanking the EGR passage does not remove soot and carbon already deposited in the intake manifold. Where deposits are restricting airflow, cleaning the intake can address that existing buildup.

Euro Car Electronics offers intake manifold cleaning, with ultrasonic cleaning available for suitable removed components. Request an intake cleaning assessment to arrange this alongside the work.

Installation and ECU tuning are not included in the plate price. The mail-in ECU tuning service is charged separately when selected.
