Blow-off valve designed specifically for late-model Audi, VW, Skoda 1.2 and 1.4TSI models
The VTA is a performance blow-off valve solution for Mercedes vehicles with an electronic factory diverter valve.
Combining atmosphere venting with the proven performance of our ground-breaking DV+, the VTA provides an aggressive blow-off sound, improved throttle response, and superior boost holding and reliability.
Thanks to its compact design and low-profile integrated solenoid, installation is simple – just swap out the factory diverter valve, and you're good to go!
Key Features and Benefits
- Blow-off sound and better performance
- Reliable boost holding even under high pressure
- Sharper throttle response and faster boost recovery
- Low-profile integrated solenoid for easy installation
- Made in Australia, backed by a lifetime warranty
The T9489 is a direct bolt-on for Toyota GR Yaris and Corolla, and also suits other turbocharged Toyota/Lexus engines with an electronic OEM diverter valve.
Why Choose a VTA Over a “BOV Spacer”?
While BOV spacers offer a cheap way to add blow-off sound, they do not address performance or reliability issues. They simply redirect air from the factory diverter valve without improving how it functions.
The VTA replaces the OEM diverter valve entirely, delivering real performance gains and reliable operation – not just sound.
Reliable Boost Holding
Although recent OEM diverter valves have improved slightly, the plastic valve mechanism still cannot reliably seal high boost pressure.
The VTA uses CNC-machined aluminium and brass components with a Viton face seal, ensuring reliable boost holding even up to 50psi.
Sharper Throttle Response, Faster Boost Recovery
Factory electronic diverter valves operate in binary – fully open or shut – which doesn't match your throttle input. This causes non-linear power delivery and poor throttle response.
GFB’s pilot actuation system allows the VTA to open and close progressively, smoothing boost transitions and improving drivability.
Built to Last – Backed by a Lifetime Warranty
With precision manufacturing, robust materials, and close attention to detail, the VTA is designed to last a lifetime – and it’s backed by one.
About the VTA Range
The VTA is also available for Audi, VW, Skoda, and SEAT vehicles with electronic factory diverter valves.
It features the same DV+ performance core with added atmosphere venting, giving you aggressive blow-off sound plus better throttle response, boost recovery, and reliability under extreme conditions.
Design Philosophy: “Keep What Works, Replace What Doesn’t”
- Retains ECU control and the factory solenoid for fast response
- Replaces only the weak OEM plastic valve mechanism
- Features CNC-machined billet components that last a lifetime
- Switches to pilot operation for progressive valve movement
Instead of fully opening at low boost or during mid-corner throttle lifts (which causes lag), the VTA responds proportionally, reducing lag and smoothing transitions.
Key Features
- TMS Technology for faster boost recovery
- Improved boost-holding capability
- Atmosphere venting for blow-off sound
- Retains factory ECU control
- Simple, direct bolt-on installation with included hardware
- Manufactured in Australia to ISO 9001 standards
VTA or DV+?
Both valves use the same high-quality materials and core valve mechanism. The difference?
- VTA vents to atmosphere for sound
- DV+ recirculates air for quieter operation
Why Choose a VTA Over a BOV Spacer?
Spacers are cheap and noisy – that’s it. They leave all the performance and reliability issues of the OEM diverter valve untouched.
The VTA replaces the diverter valve itself, offering sound and performance in one package.
Why Not Choose a Kit With a Solenoid?
Replacing the solenoid adds cost, not performance. The factory solenoid opens in just hundredths of a second – there’s no need to upgrade it when a VTA offers full performance at a lower price!
