The main package we recommend for serious builds is a Stage 3 ECU remap combined with a Perun Turbo upgrade. This is where the upgraded turbocharger and the software calibration are planned together, rather than treating the turbo as a random bolt-on part.

Once the airflow changes, the ECU calibration needs to be adjusted properly. Boost control, torque request, fuelling, ignition, exhaust temperature protection, sensor limits and drivability all need to be considered. A bigger turbo without the correct tuning is not a complete package.

For suitable cars, this approach can deliver a much stronger top-end power increase while keeping the car usable on the road or track, depending on the build goal.

Typical Upgrade Process

1. Vehicle and goal review — tell us the car, engine, current modifications and target use.

3. Supporting hardware review — intercooler, exhaust, intake, fuel system and drivetrain limits are checked.

5. Stage 3 ECU calibration — tuning is matched to the upgraded turbo and hardware combination.
6. Final checks — boost behaviour, drivability, temperatures and fault-free operation are reviewed.

Start Your Stage 3 Turbo Build

Turbo upgrades are application-specific. Compressor size, machining, actuator setup, boost control, engine condition and supporting hardware all matter. We do not recommend buying a turbo upgrade purely because it appears to fit the car.
