GFB Turbo-Management Products
Diverter Valves and DV+
A diverter valve releases pressure from the intake system when the throttle closes and recirculates the discharged air back into the turbo intake. This helps manage pressure during gear changes and sudden throttle lift while keeping operation relatively quiet.
GFB's DV+ range is designed for selected vehicles with factory electronic diverter valves. Depending on the part number, the design either retains the original electronic solenoid or replaces the complete original valve with an integrated-solenoid unit.
GFB uses precision-machined metal valve components and a pilot-actuated design on supported DV+ products. The purpose is functional performance rather than maximum sound, with potential benefits including improved boost holding, progressive valve operation, sharper response and faster boost recovery after a gear change.

Blow-Off Valves and Adjustable Sound
Atmosphere-venting blow-off valves release some or all discharged boost pressure outside the intake system, creating the recognisable venting sound associated with modified turbocharged cars.
GFB offers several approaches for supported vehicles:

Diverter Valve or Blow-Off Valve?
Choose a Plumb-Back Diverter Valve If:
- You prefer quiet or near-factory operation
- Your priority is valve sealing, response and reliability
- You want the discharged air recirculated into the intake
- You do not want a pronounced atmosphere-venting sound
- A compatible direct-fit DV+ is available for the vehicle
A plumb-back valve is normally the better choice when performance and factory-style behaviour matter more than noise.
Choose an Atmosphere or Adjustable Valve If:
- You want an audible boost-release sound
- You want to adjust the balance between recirculation and venting
- A compatible VTA, DVX, Respons or Deceptor product is available
- The vehicle's airflow measurement and engine-management strategy support the selected configuration
Do not assume that a universal atmosphere-venting valve will operate correctly on every European turbo engine.
Wastegates and Boost Control
The wastegate controls how much exhaust energy reaches the turbocharger turbine. Opening the wastegate bypasses part of the exhaust flow and helps regulate turbo speed and boost pressure.
Modified turbo systems can expose limitations in the original wastegate actuator or boost-control arrangement. Depending on the application, this may appear as:
- Boost dropping at higher engine speeds
- An unstable boost curve
- Difficulty reaching the intended boost target
- Inconsistent control after turbo or exhaust changes

Fuel-Pressure Regulators
Fuel-pressure control becomes increasingly important when a modified engine requires more fuel flow than the original system was designed to supply.
