VAG CAN PRO, commonly called VCP, is a professional diagnostic, coding and programming platform. It is particularly focused on Volkswagen Group vehicles and provides functions ranging from normal fault diagnostics through to advanced coding, parameter-file upload, guided procedures and ECU programming.

Yes. VCP is designed for technicians, retrofit specialists, automotive electronics workshops and other advanced users who need deeper access than a normal consumer diagnostic scanner provides.

VCP's main strength is Volkswagen Group diagnostics, including Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda, SEAT and CUPRA. Selected Mercedes-Benz functions are also supported.

VCP provides CAN and UDS communication for modern vehicles.

VCP+K adds K-Line communication, extending the tool's usefulness into earlier-generation vehicles.

The current VCP V2.0 CAN+UDS interface is specified by the manufacturer for approximately 2005-current models, while VCP+K extends stated coverage back to approximately 1993.

Engineering Mode provides deeper access to supported ECU functions. Depending on the control unit, this can include functions such as EEPROM read/write and access to hidden adaptation channels.

VCP offers an annual subscription providing 12 months access to current software releases and online support.

An active subscription is also required for purchasing certain new plugins, scripts and K-Line upgrades and for downloading current software from the VCP server.

No. VCP is an independent professional diagnostic, coding and programming platform. ODIS is Volkswagen Group's factory diagnostic environment.

Many specialist workshops use professional aftermarket systems such as VCP for everyday coding, retrofit and electronics work while using ODIS where genuine manufacturer online access is required.
