VW Discovery Media MIB 2.5 8-Inch Touch Screen Display Upgrade | OEM Genuine 5G6919605B
Genuine VW 8-Inch Discover Media Touchscreen Display
Give your Volkswagen a larger factory-style infotainment screen, or replace a damaged original display, with this genuine VW 8-inch touchscreen assembly. Part number 5G6919605B is designed for compatible MIB2 and MIB2.5 installations, including selected Golf, Tiguan, Arteon and Polo applications.
The 8-inch display gives your existing infotainment system more screen space for media, vehicle menus and supported navigation or smartphone apps, while keeping an original Volkswagen dashboard appearance.
A larger screen for your existing VW system
For vehicles with a compatible smaller MIB2 display, this screen offers an OEM upgrade without replacing the whole infotainment system. It is also suitable as a replacement for a matching 8-inch display that has suffered physical damage or a diagnosed display or touch-panel fault.
- 8-inch touchscreen: a larger interface for your existing media, vehicle and infotainment functions.
- Genuine Volkswagen component: original-equipment display and control-panel assembly.
- Upgrade or replacement: for supported smaller-screen conversions or replacement of a matching factory display.
- Retains your existing system: works with the vehicle's compatible infotainment main unit and its enabled functions.
- Brand new: supplied as a new genuine VW display assembly.

Frequently asked questions
Can I upgrade my smaller VW screen to this 8-inch display?
Yes, this can be used for supported smaller-screen upgrades with a compatible MIB2 main unit. The conversion may also need an 8-inch fascia and the appropriate display connection.
Does the screen add Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or navigation?
These functions come from the infotainment main unit and its enabled features. The screen displays supported functions already available through that system; replacing the display alone does not activate them.
Can I use this screen with an original MIB1 system?
An MIB1-to-MIB2 conversion is a wider retrofit involving a compatible main unit and any associated hardware. This listing supplies the screen component rather than the complete conversion package.
Is it suitable for replacing a faulty 8-inch screen?
Yes, where it matches the existing display and infotainment configuration. It can replace a damaged or faulty display assembly while retaining the compatible original main unit.
Is the dashboard fascia included?
The fascia is a separate component. For a Golf smaller-screen upgrade, the relevant piano-black surround reference is 5G2819728AJQYI.
