Performance Information

The StratoForse series is rated by Aeson Power for up to 120,000 engine starts under the manufacturer's specified testing conditions.

The series is also rated for approximately 2,700 cycles at 50 percent depth of discharge under the stated laboratory conditions.

Actual battery life depends on correct sizing, charging-system condition, vehicle electrical loads, operating temperature, storage conditions and frequency of use.

Vehicle Compatibility

This battery may be suitable for vehicles originally equipped with an H4 or LN1-size battery when the dimensions, terminal arrangement, hold-down system, CCA requirement and charging specifications are compatible.

Battery compatibility must not be confirmed using the H4 or LN1 designation alone. The original battery's dimensions, terminal polarity, terminal diameter, CCA rating, hold-down arrangement and vehicle charging requirements must also be checked.

Vehicles with intelligent charging systems or battery-energy-management modules may have additional battery requirements. Compatibility should be confirmed before installation.

This product is intended for automotive engine-cranking applications. It is not designed for deep-cycle, UPS or standby-power use.

Coding and Battery Registration

No coding or programming is required for the battery itself.

Some vehicles require battery registration, battery-monitoring adaptation or an ECU reset whenever the battery is replaced.

Where registration is required, the procedure should be completed using suitable manufacturer-compatible diagnostic equipment.

Do not select an unsupported battery-technology setting or enter incorrect battery-capacity information. The appropriate registration procedure should be confirmed from the vehicle manufacturer's instructions.

Charging Requirements

The battery is compatible with suitable standard automotive alternators operating within the manufacturer's specified voltage range.

A sodium-ion-compatible or lithium-compatible smart charger is recommended for external charging.

A conventional lead-acid charger may only be used when desulphation, reconditioning, repair and pulse-recovery modes are disabled.

The recommended charging voltage is approximately 14.6V. Prolonged charging above 15V may reduce the battery's service life.

Do not use desulphation or reconditioning modes. Sodium-ion batteries do not experience lead-acid sulphation, and high-voltage repair pulses may damage the cells.

Operating and Storage Information

  • Specified working-voltage range: 6V to 14.6V
  • Maximum specified voltage: 15.2V
  • Specified charging-temperature range: 0°C to 80°C
  • Specified discharging-temperature range: -30°C to 80°C
  • Approximate self-discharge rate: 3 percent per month without vehicle loads
  • Disconnect the battery from parasitic loads during extended storage
  • Recharge periodically during long-term storage
  • Do not leave the battery deeply discharged for an extended period

Warranty

The StratoForse battery is supplied with a 3-year warranty for eligible private or personal vehicle use and an 18-month warranty for eligible commercial or business use.

The warranty period begins from the original purchase date and is subject to proof of purchase, correct battery sizing, correct installation, an approved charging profile and the manufacturer's warranty conditions.

Damage caused by incorrect installation, incorrect charging, vehicle electrical faults, undercharging, overcharging, racing use or operation outside the published specifications may be excluded from warranty coverage.

Installation Information

Professional installation and a charging-system inspection are recommended.

Before installation, confirm that the replacement battery matches the original dimensions, terminal orientation, terminal size, hold-down arrangement and CCA requirements.

When removing the existing battery, disconnect the negative terminal first and then the positive terminal. When installing the replacement, connect the positive terminal first and then the negative terminal.

The battery must be securely fastened using the vehicle's correct hold-down bracket. Loose installation can damage the battery, terminals or surrounding vehicle components.

After installation, check the charging voltage, cranking performance, terminal security and vehicle electrical operation. Complete battery registration or an ECU reset where required by the vehicle.
