Professional Diagnostics, Coding and Retrofit Configuration

VAG CAN PRO, also known as VCP or VAG CAN Professional, gives Volkswagen Group specialists the tools to diagnose faults, configure electronic modules and complete supported retrofit procedures from a Windows computer.

For workshops working on Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda and SEAT electronics, its appeal goes beyond reading fault codes. Coding, adaptations, guided procedures and parameter-file handling bring more of the configuration work into your own workshop.

What Can VAG CAN PRO Do?

• Fault diagnosis: read and clear fault codes, identify control units and inspect live measurement values.
• Coding and adaptations: configure supported control units, change adaptation values and perform basic settings.
• Output tests: operate supported components during diagnosis.
• Guided functions: use OCF One Click Functions to work through supported service and configuration procedures.
• ZDC parameterisation: upload compatible parameter datasets to supported electronic modules.
• Programming: perform supported flashing operations, with additional specialist plugins available separately.

Useful for Retrofit and Module Configuration Work

Some electronic upgrades need more than a coding change. The replacement or retrofitted control unit may also need the correct parameter dataset for its application.

VCP's ZDC parameter-file capability makes it particularly useful for this work. Supported applications can include lighting, infotainment and driver-assistance modules, helping technicians configure the electronics behind an OEM retrofit.

Additional ZDC/VIM file access, vehicle-specific scripts and specialist plugins are available separately. These let you build the tool around the jobs your workshop actually performs.

Guided Functions for Everyday Workshop Jobs

VCP's OCF procedures provide on-screen instructions and operating conditions for supported tasks. Examples include:

• Service-interval resets.
• Electronic parking-brake service procedures.
• Throttle-body adaptations.
• Battery coding.
• Steering-angle sensor calibration.
• Supported injector coding and DSG adaptations.
• Lighting and convenience-function configuration.

Standard VCP or VCP+K?

This is the standard CAN/UDS version. It suits workshops concentrating on vehicles and control units that communicate through these protocols.

For older vehicles or modules using K-Line, choose VAG CAN PRO with K-Line. This distinction also matters on vehicles with mixed diagnostic protocols: an Audi A4 B7, for example, uses CAN for some modules and K-Line for others.

K-Line capability can also be added to a supported VCP V2.0 interface later.

Software Licence and Updates

The package includes a VCP software licence and 12 months of software updates. Software installation and activation are completed through the manufacturer's download and Activator tools.

After the included update period, the installed software continues working. Renewing the annual subscription provides access to current releases and online support. An active subscription is also required for server downloads and the purchase of new plugins, scripts or a K-Line upgrade.

Keep a backup of your installed software if you choose not to renew.
