Volkswagen Crafter DAUA and DAVA EGR blanking kit

The Darkside Developments DSD7742 kit provides the plates and gaskets needed to blank the EGR pipe connections on compatible Volkswagen Crafter diesel engines. Purchase the hardware on its own if your vehicle already has suitable EGR software, or add ECU tuning to complete the modification.

Scope of delivery:

• 2x medium EGR blanking plates
• 2x medium EGR gaskets
• 1x small EGR blanking plate
• 1x small EGR gasket

Depending on the vehicle's EGR pipe configuration, installation uses either one medium plate and one small plate, or two medium plates, with their matching gaskets. One plate and one gasket will remain unused.

Compatible engines and EGR pipes

Suitable for Volkswagen Crafter models fitted with DAUA or DAVA engines. The kit blanks the connections associated with the following original Volkswagen EGR pipes:

Complete the modification with ECU tuning

The blanking kit handles the physical modification, while the required ECU calibration addresses EGR operation and monitoring. Installing the kit without suitable calibration can trigger EGR-related fault codes, an engine warning light or limp mode.

If your vehicle still needs this calibration, select the mail-in ECU tuning option above when ordering. This service requires you to send your engine ECU to us. Customers who already have suitable EGR calibration can purchase the kit on its own.

Intake cleaning alongside the installation

Blanking the EGR passage does not remove soot and carbon already deposited in the intake manifold. Where deposits are restricting airflow, cleaning the intake can address that existing buildup.

Euro Car Electronics offers intake manifold cleaning, with ultrasonic cleaning available for suitable removed components. Request an intake cleaning assessment to arrange this alongside the work.

Please Note: Removing or blanking the EGR valve can cause the ECU to detect incorrect EGR flow or a missing valve signal, triggering an emissions warning light on the dashboard. We can address the software requirements of the modification by reprogramming the EGR software on the ECU.
